Now here’s were it get’s funny. Our grandma thought that my brother was being attacked and she didn’t know our neighbors number so she called the sheriff. When the sheriff got there he had to call our grandma and convince that there is such thing as pocket dialing. When me, my sister, and my mom heard about this, we laughed out loud for who knows how long. Oh Grandma…

Book Review-The Dangerous Days Of Daniel X

December 8th, 2009

The Dangerous Days Of Daniel X was a book about a teenage alien hunter, who is set out for revenge on an alien known as The Prayer. When Daniel was three, The Prayer came to earth and killed his parents in search of The List. The List was a list of alien outlaws on Terra Firma. Terra Firma is the name for Earth in this book. Now there is something extraordinary about Daniel. Daniel has the power to create living breathing people from his mind. In this book he creates his friends Willy, Joe, Emma, and Dana. He also creates his Mom, Dad, and his sister, who he calls Pork Chop. These people were in his life previously, but died, so he recreated them. He doesn’t get achieve revenge on The Prayer in this book, but he does set out for number 6 on The List, Ergent Seth.

He also meets a girl named Phoebe Cook. When phoebe goes missing, Daniel looks for and finds her at the top of the hill. Phoebe turns out to be Ergent Seth in disguise, and drains Daniel of his energy. Daniel was taken to Seth’s ship and made a slave. Seth said he had a surpriseĀ for Daniel and brought to Daniel an opus 24/24, the type of gun his parents were murdered with. Seth uses the gun and shoots Daniel in the stomach area, but does not kill him.

Seth then brings Daniel to his home planet, Alpar Nok. Daniel then finds out that his home planet surface was leveled, although an underground city remained. Daniel escapes Seth, then meets Bem and his sister, Kulay. They bring him to the underground city’s park, where there is a zoo with thousands of elephants.

On the way back, a woman asks Daniel who he is. Daniel falls down, in great pain, because of the bullet from Seth. The woman pulls it out, then Daniel feels a little better.

Daniel meets his uncles, aunts, and cousins. Then Ergent Seth and his troops invade the planet and find the hidden underground city were the Alparians live. Daniel challenges Ergent Seth to a battle. During the battle, Daniel uses his creative powers and turns himself into a small bug, a tick. Daniel, as a tick, goes inside Ergent Seth’s head. Daniel then turns himself into an elephant, killing Seth.

Daniel is victorious over Ergent Seth. He frees all of Seth’s slaves, and returns to Terra Firma.

This is a good book, great for teenagers. Grade: 3.5/5 stars.

The Best of the Old School Games

November 8th, 2009

Do you remember pac-man, or galaxian, or dig-dug. The games weren’t so complicated, but they were challenging. Today, Namco makes video game museums, I recently got a Namco video game museum, it has Galaxian, Pac-Man, Galaga, Xevious, Mappy, druaga, and Dig-Dug 2. All of the games in this museum are puzzle games, even if it doesn’t seem like they all have some puzzle. Back when they were in the arcades it would become addictting to play, for alot its addictting because they want their name at the top of the high score list, for others it’s just fun. As games evolved the games stopped using 8-bit style, they made video games with higher graphics. Old video games have had remakes, but they will never actually be a match, because of the artistic style and the glory of your name being at the top of the high score list for everyone to see.
